Abia Police Intensify Security, Assure Residents of Peaceful Yuletide

The Abia State Police Command has intensified security measures across the state to ensure a safe, peaceful and crime-free Christmas and New Year celebration for residents.
As part of the Command’s overt operational strategy to enhance public safety, police visibility and effective supervision before, during and after the Yuletide season, the Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa, on Sunday night, December 22, 2025, embarked on a security tour of strategic locations across the state.

The night-time tour, according to the Police Command, was aimed at conducting a critical on-the-spot security appraisal and assessing the level of deployment of personnel and resources at key points. Areas visited during the tour included Ubakala Junction, Isiala-Ngwa Junction, Ariaria Junction, Osisioma Flyover, Bata Junction, Obikabia Junction, Ngwa Road, Okpara Square, Umudike Junction along Ikot Ekpene Road, and Uchenna Bus Stop, among others.

The Command disclosed that security personnel have been strategically deployed to places of worship, event centres, highways, inter-state routes, critical infrastructure and other high-density public areas across the state. These measures are intended to prevent criminal activities, ease traffic congestion and reduce road-related incidents during the festive period.

In addition, the police said they are sustaining proactive raids on criminal hideouts while strengthening collaboration with sister security agencies, community leaders and other relevant stakeholders. This, the Command noted, is in line with the directive of the Inspector General of Police to ensure comprehensive security coverage nationwide.

The Abia State Police Command also reassured residents of its commitment to protecting lives and property, while wishing all Abians a peaceful and blissful Yuletide season and a prosperous New Year.
