Love, culture in full display as Gregory University Founder, Professor Greg Ibe gives out daughter in traditional marriage

It was a day of celebration, cultural display and parental joy at Amaokwe Achara Uturu, Isuikwuato LGA of Abia State on Friday, as Peace Ibe, the beautiful daughter of Professor Gregory Ibe, was traditionally handed over to her husband, Obinna Ezeadum from Awka-Etiti, Anambra State.

Performing the traditional blessing during the event, before his joyous in-laws, family members and other well wishers, the father of the Bride and founder of Gregory University Uturu (GUU), Professor Gregory Ikechukwu Ibe declared long life, good health, fruits of the womb, prosperity and love upon the couple.

He encouraged the couple to always work as one and not to allow a third party to interfere in their marriage, even as he encouraged them to put God first in everything they do.

Professor Ibe, who is a celebrated global citizen and astute achiever in various fields, also congratulated his in-laws from Awka-Etiti, Anambra State for coming in large numbers to witness the traditional marital bliss.

Flanked by other family members during the blessing, Professor Ibe proclaimed God’s protection and guidance upon his daughter, Peace and her husband, Obinna, saying that they will excell in their endeavors.

In their appreciation, Mr. Obinna Ezeadum and his wife, Peace Ibe thanked Professor Ibe for the blessings and also thanked all guests that came from far and near to witness the occasion.

They promised to love one another, in line with the nuggets and parental trainings they recieved and above all, with the help of God.

The event which was attended by traditional rulers, politicians, captains of industry, students, educationists, Journalists and other entrepreneurs, was also graced by a large presence of In-laws from Awka-Etiti, Anambra State and elated indigenes of the host community, Uturu

Among the top politicians that attended the event was Elder Sunday Onukwubiri, the Chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Abia State chapter, members of his executive and politicians drawn from other political parties.

Meanwhile, some of the guests that came from other States including Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo, Akwa Ibom etc, marvelled at the site and size of Gregory University Uturu.

One of the guests from Imo State, Mr. Kenneth Ogundu said :
” Today (Friday) is my first time of seeing Gregory University Uturu. I have been hearing it but I never knew that this type of massive investment is in Igboland. May God bless Professor Ibe for investing in Igboland.”, he said
