A member representing South East in the North West Development Commission Hon Chijioke Chukwu and a former SDP Gubernatorial Candidate in Abia State Dame Blessing Nwagba Phd have commended the Deputy Speaker federal House of Representatives Abuja RT. Hon. Benjamin Kalu for his leadership style and for remaining steadfast in his sharing of rice and other valuables to his Constituents and Abians in general every 29th of every December .

Speaking during the 2025 edition of the rice sharing which took place in Bende LGA , Hon . Chukwu said it is quite commendable that for 23 years now the Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu have been observing this as a ritual sharing rice and other goods to the people every 29th of every December . He said this act and his leadership style are quite commendable “As you can see , he has set aside One billion naira for businesses in the state and 500,000 for small scale businesses in Bende constituency.This fund is not refundable. He did this to boost business in Bende LGA and better the lot of the people .

Hon Chijioke Chukwu a former member of Abia State House of Assembly and presently a special Adviser to the Deputy Speaker on Intergovernmental Affairs , expressed the confidence that his party APC will soon take over Abia state . He said the rate of defection to APC in Abia state is quite alarming, stating that with this development it will be impossible for APC not to take over Abia state come 2027 . This he said is not negotiable .

Speaking on the call by the Deputy Speaker for Gov. Alex Otti to join APC , Hon . Chukwu said he will align with the Speaker in what ever decision he takes but noted that he will not damble in issues that concern the state governor Dr Alex Otti and the leader House of Rep Rt. Hon Benjamin Kalu due to the fact that two of them have several things in common for example , they attend the same church .

Contributing a former Guber Candidate of Social Democratic Party SDP in the state Hon . Dame Blessing Nwagba PhD said people especially APC faithfuls have gathered in Bende to celebrate Christmas with their leader Hon. Ben Kalu and have a feeling of the season on behalf of Mr President Bola Ahmed TInubu and to encourage the Leader Rt. Hon Benjamin Kalu whom she said have been doing so well as a leader in APC .

Dame Blessing Nwagba said as a member of renew Hope Partners , the people came to promote APC in the state . She was full of praises for the leader Ben kalu for initiating the Gender Inclusive bill which stands to protect the rights of the female gender in the society.

According to her , the country should have about 180 female House of Assembly members nation wide but what we have is just 45 in the entire Houses of Assembly nation wide and this she said are some of the anormallies Leader Ben Kalu is fighting to correct in the nation .

Dame Nwagba said she would soon unfold her agenda for 2027 but for now she is still watching the scenario , as such would concentrate her efforts working for the leader and the party APC.

Speaking on Oil Subsidy funds that accrue to state’s , Hon. Dame noted that the federal government made this fund available to state’s to cushion the effects of the removal of oil subsidy. She was of the opinion that most state governors are not utilizing the fund that is why hunger still persist . She said though some governors are trying but what they are doing age not commensurate with the funds given. While very few other governors give good account of the funds given to them.
