The Deputy Speaker federal House of Representatives in Abuja RT. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu have revealed some of his discussions with the governor of Abia state concerning Guber race of the state come 2027.

Speaking to a cross section of the press on 29th of December during his Christmas largess and town hall meeting with major Stakeholders of APC in the state which took place at Bende LGA , Hon. Kalu said he is not contesting Governorship election in Abia state come 2027 . He said he once visited the present governor of the state Dr. Alex Otti in his house and told him to come and join APC so as to have a smooth sail of a second tenure as governor of Abia come 2027 .

Hon. Kalu said he went to the governor’s house with a one time member of the representing South East on the governing Board of the North East Development Commission , Hon. Sam Onuigbo and the governor he said told him out right that he is not interested in joining any other political party .

Hon. Kalu while addressing the mammoth crowd that came to part take in the sharing of his Xmas rice , said APC in Abia is still extending their hands of Fellowship to the governor to come and join and if he still refuses then the party would have no option than to field a suitable candidate for 2027 Guber election in Abia state . According to him APC would surely win in Abia state. Stating that there is nothing wrong if he Benjamin Okezie Kalu decides to run for Governorship election in 2027 .

He observed that his sharing of rice every 29th December is an annual ritual he has been observing since 23 years ago and do this to thank God for his mercies upon his life and to share with others according to God’s ordinance .

Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu frowned at a particular section of the the Social Media that took it upon themselves to cast aspersion on his name and publish faulsehood against him in the social media . He described this as very unfortunate .

The Deputy Speaker federal House of Rep Abuja RT. Hon. Kalu later in the day presented a cheque of one billion Naira to his Foundation Ben kalu Foundation to be shared to Entrepreneurs of Small scale businesses a cross the state. .

Earlier in the day, some major Stake holder of the party from the three Senatorial zones , people like Hon. , Dr Blessing Nwagba , Hon. Emeka Stanley , Hon.Chris Nkwonta, Chief Chris Igwe Dr. Cosmos Ndukwe Mr. Trump Eke , Chief Charles Ogbonna, among others spoke asserting that President Bola Ahmed TInubu will win the next presidential election in the state because APC will take over the state come 2027 general elections.
