The primary, held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, saw President Tinubu defeat his only challenger, Mr. Stanley Osifo, polling a total of 161,005 votes against Osifo’s 1,007 votes.

The exercise was conducted across the 184 wards in Abia State. Results from each ward were first submitted to local government coordinators before being forwarded to the party’s state secretariat on Finbarrs Road, Umuahia, where final collation took place

Announcing the final results, the Abia State Presidential Primary Returning Officer and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, declared President Tinubu winner of the APC presidential primary in the state.
