Abia Police, Correctional Service Strengthen Inter-Agency Collaboration.
The Abia State Police Command has strengthened its partnership with the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Abia State Command, as part of efforts to enhance security, information sharing and professional capacity among security agencies in the state.

The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Wilfred Olutokunbo Afolabi, made this known on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, when he paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Correctional Service, Abia State Command.
Afolabi stressed the importance of synergy among security agencies, noting that effective collaboration, information sharing and coordinated operations are essential to achieving sustainable peace and security in Abia State.

Receiving the Commissioner of Police, the Controller of Corrections, Abia State Command, CC Blessing Ifeoma Nwanyanwu, alongside other senior officers, assured the Police Command of the Correctional Service’s readiness to strengthen cooperation, particularly in the area of intelligence and information sharing.
Nwanyanwu also confirmed the Service’s participation in the forthcoming capacity-building training programme and commended the Commissioner for the visit.
She appealed to the Police Command to sustain its existing cooperation and support for the Nigerian Correctional Service, stressing that continued collaboration between both agencies would contribute to effective security management in the state.
The engagement underscored the commitment of both security institutions to working together towards improved security, professionalism and public safety across Abia State.
