COMMON MAN IN NIGERIA HAS NO ACCESS TO JUDICIARY NNAMDI KANU CASE NOT A COURT MATTER

A Lagos based lawyer and human rights activist, Mr.Femi Falana have declared that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s case is political matter that should be settled out of court due to it’s Political nature .

Speaking to pressmen on Wednesday the 8th of October 2025 , when he paid a visit to the state governor Dr Alex Otti in his Office , said the state governor Dr Otti is doing very well evidenced by the infrastructural changes he have seen in the state but was quick to quip that there is still room for more development in the state .

Mr. Falana, who is in the state for a court case said he is familiar with the affairs of Abia state since 1999, appreciated the good road networks schools, hospitals and other giant strides of Governor Alex Otti in the State and maintained that, he has seen signs of good governance which was not there before now.

” I can say without any fear of contradiction that I’ve seen signs of good governance which was not there before. I’ve seen evidence of physical development. ” He stated . He observed that from his investigations the people are happy with the Administration’ of Dr Alex Otti .

On the ongoing judicial reforms, the human rights lawyer regretted the lack of access to justice for the common man and made a case for the promotion of alternative dispute resolution, emphasising that justice is only accessible to politicians and the elites in Nigeria. Judiciary he said is now the last hope of the elite and Politicians , no longer that of the Common man.

He advocated for the promotion of traditional Judicial system such as palaces of traditional rulers , reform of customary Courts saying this is where the common people go for dispute resolution and justice. According to him it is not enough to reserve justice for the Elites and Politicians to the detriment of the Common man .
