Dr. Obinna Okorie Foundation Congratulates Ude Oko Chukwu on Defection to Labour Party

The President and Founder of the Dr. Obinna Okorie Foundation, Chief Obinna Michael Okorie, PhD, has extended warm congratulations to the former Deputy Governor of Abia State, Rt. Hon. Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, on his official defection to the Labour Party.

The defection ceremony, which took place on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Etitiama Primary School, Nkporo, was presided over by the Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr. Alex Chioma Otti.

In a goodwill message, Dr. Okorie praised Rt. Hon. Oko Chukwu’s decision to align with what he described as the progressive political movement in the state. He attributed the move to the “visible and monumental development strides” being recorded under Governor Otti’s administration.

Dr. Okorie also commended the Governor’s exemplary leadership, describing it as inspiring and worthy of emulation.

Though currently based in the United Kingdom, Dr. Okorie was ably represented at the event by members of his foundation, led by the Foundation’s Coordinator, Hon. Chiagozie Egbu, MNYP.
