HiA core farmer and the Traditional Ruler of Oriendu autonomous community in Umuahia North LGA of Abia state , His Royal Majesty Eze Philip Ajomiwe have penultimate Saturday carried out an elaborate thanks giving service to God for a successful farming season and bountiful harvest .

Addressing his visitors and the people of Oriendu during the event which took place in his Palace of peace, the royal father said he derives pleasure doing the work of God as a pastor , traditional ruler and a farmer , he decided to celebrate the 2025 newyam festival of his Oriendu community in thanks giving service to God . To thank God for his numerous blessings to him and the entire kingdom over the years.

To commemorate the dual event the Eze said he made the 2025 event more colourful by reaching out to Widows whom he gave numerous gifts in appreciation to God for his mercies and blessings upon his life and the entire people of Oriendu home and abroad , noting that he remained one traditional ruler and farmer that do not purchase yam tubers in the market due to good harvests of yam from his farm land .

He eulogized the starling qualities of the state governor Dr Alex Otti describing him as a man on a mission to rescue the state. He however pleaded with the governor to mechanise agriculture for food sufficiency in the state quipping that Dr. Alex Otti has a good vision for the state.

He used the occassion to lecture people on the need to always imbibe the habit of staying healthy saying drinking good water such as kandem water keeps one healthy all the time . Kandem water is one of the products of his company .
