In a touching celebration marked by generosity and a deep sense of community, renowned businessman and philanthropist Dr. Chima Desmond Anyasọ commemorated his 45th birthday with a special visit to the Abia State University Teaching Hospital (ABSUTH) School of Nursing in Aba.

To honor the occasion, Dr. Anyasọ donated bags of rice, cash, and wrappers to the students, sharing not just material gifts but also words of encouragement and heartfelt appreciation. His visit underscored a strong commitment to giving back to the community that shaped his early years.

“Thank you all for making time to be here today. This visit isn’t about extravagance, I simply wanted to mark my birthday with you,” he said. “God has given me the opportunity and resources to give back, and I’m here today because of that.”

Reflecting on his roots, Dr. Anyasọ shared: “I was born and raised in Aba. Coming home, especially on meaningful days like this, is important to me. If Aba could produce someone like me, it can produce many more great people including all of you here today.”

Acknowledging the vital role nurses play in society, he added: “Nurses are the heartbeat of healthcare. You care, you serve, and you save lives. While your reward is great in heaven, you should also begin to enjoy the fruits of your labor here on earth.”

He urged the students to remain focused and proud of their noble profession, reminding them of the dignity in labor and the profound value of their work.

Earlier in the event, the Head of Department, Mrs. Nwaeze Obinna Silverline, warmly welcomed Dr. Anyasọ and expressed sincere gratitude for his support. She also took the opportunity to highlight some ongoing challenges facing the institution.
