The ongoing 2026 Physical and Credential Screening Exercise in Umuahia has continued to progress smoothly, with a total of 308 applicants screened between March 30 and April 4, 2026.
The exercise, which began on March 9, is being conducted at the Police Officers’ Mess located along Factory Road, opposite Damgrete Hotel. It is scheduled to run until April 18, 2026.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Maureen Chioma Chinaka, the screening recorded steady participation throughout the week under review.
Daily figures showed that 65 applicants were screened on Monday, March 30; 55 on Tuesday, March 31; 60 on Wednesday, April 1; 58 on Thursday, April 2; and 70 applicants on Saturday, April 4.
Chinaka noted that the exercise was successfully concluded for the week on April 4, maintaining an orderly and hitch-free process.
She further disclosed that the screening will resume on Tuesday, April 7, as authorities continue efforts to ensure thorough verification of applicants.
The Abia State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to conducting a transparent and efficient screening process for all candidates.
