AUGUST MEETING: OKWULAGA AFARAUKWU WOMEN CHARGED TO BE AGENT OF DEVELOPMENT

The Traditional Ruler of Ikwulaga Afaraukwu Ibeku Autonomous Community in Umuahia North LGA of Abia state His Royal Highness Eze Edward Ibeabuchi, have called on Okwulaga Afaraukwu Ibeku Women to be agents of development in the community.

Speaking at the 2025 August meeting of Ikwulaga Afaraukwu Ibeku autonomous Community women’s wing , which took place recently at Okwulaga town hall . ,Eze Ibeabuchi commended the women of Okwulaga Afaraukwu Ibeku for coming together to Organise the 2025 August meeting . He reminded them that women are veritable source of development in any Community and good support to their families. He urged them not to relent in their good works . The royal father told the women to warn their children and wards against involving in any criminal activity noting that security in the community have been intensified to deal with any one caught in any criminal act .

Contributing , the House Member representing Umuahia Central State Constituency in Abia state House of Assembly Hon . Chinasa Antony Abiola commended the women for the unity that reigns amongst them. He urged them to work hard and diversify their businesses to be able to support their families and the community economically. Hon. Chinasa empowered petty traders amongst the women with the sum of N1.million naira revolving fund amongst the petty Traders .

Speaking the President General of Okwulaga Afaraukwu Ibeku autonomous community women’s wing Mrs Joy Ezinwa Idionyenfe said they are observing their 2025 annual August meeting , a time women of the community come together to brain storm on issues as it affects women of the community , encourage , advice and empower themselves to be able to support their husbands and the community .
to further foster unity among the women. She expressed joy that despite the harsh economy , the women are all looking radiant healthy and beautiful due to the fact that God is with them . She used the opportunity to call on government and well meaning Individuals to help the women in completing their multi million Naira Corpers Lodge Project which when completed , would help the women in revenue generation .

A Portharcourt based member of the women wing Lady blessing Chamberlain expressed joy at that occassion, she charged the women not to depend on one particular business rather they should endeavour to engage in two or more businesses to to be able to survive the harsh realties of the present day economy .

The community Chairman Mr Amarachi Alozie commended the women for the peace that exits in their wing . He called on the state government to endeavour to complete the Orieogwu market which government have earmarked for expansion. A member of Eze’s cabinet Chief Anozie Ibeakanma popularly known as Chendo thanked the women for coming together as one to celebrate their August meeting . He disclosed that the traditional ruler of the community has reorganize the community for the betterment of all.
